Ministries at FBC

Nursery - Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday nights the nursery is provided for children ages 3 and under.  The nursery is located at the bottom of the stairs in the lower level.  

Sunday School - Starting at 9:30am, the church provides a learning environment from God's word on every level, beginning with three year olds up to a Berean class.  The Berean and young couples classes both meet upstairs while another adult class meets in the lower level at the bottom of the stairs.

Children's Church - Service for ages 3-3rd grade.  Chidren are dismissed during the last song before the Pastor brings the sermon.  Teachers and helpers are available to take the children downstairs to their classroom.

Music - The choir meets throughout the year to minister by singing of God's goodness and to bring glory and honor to God.  Programs and specials are often planned to bring about this special ministry.  Our corporate music style is mostly traditional hymns and choruses.

Whirlybirds - Whirlybirds is an after-school Bible club for children in grades kindergarten through six. This evangelistic outreach ministry of First Baptist Church meets each Wednesday beginning in September and going through April.  

Children earn their t-shirts, sashes or caps, and awards by working in their workbooks and memorizing scripture. The schedule includes time for classroom work as well as a large group Bible lesson time, music, puppets and a snack.

The unique location of the church, adjacent to the local elementary school, affords the convenience of children walking directly from school to Whirlybirds. Of course, we provide plentiful supervision as they cross the parking lot.

Our primary goal for Whirlybirds is to address each person's need for a Saviour and introduce them to Jesus Christ as The Only One Who can meet that need. We also strive to help those who know Him to grow in their spiritual walk. We consider it a privilege and a blessing to be involved in this wonderful childrens' outreach.

Women For Missions - Meets on the 2nd Monday of each month with a Business Meeting followed by a bible study.  The goal of this group is to minister to the women of the church and to help raise support for our missionaries.

Youth Group - For Jr. High and High School ages, grades 7-12.  Special activities, outings, and trips are scheduled throughout the year including camp at IRBC in Ventura, IA during the summer months.

Men's Fellowship - The third Saturday of each month a large group of men from FBC and also other area churches join for a time of devotion around God's word with coffee, food, and fellowship in Earl's Garage.
